County Durham Wedding DJ was called upon to provide a great night of entertainment at Redworth Hall Hotel. Our team has been to this establishment many times over the years as not every couple booking the venue wants to use the services that it puts before their customers. Some couples want more and are also ready to do their homework. They also want the option to choose the DJ they want for their wedding day and that’s exactly what Stephanie and Daniel (pictured) did when they hired County Durham Wedding DJ.
The newlyweds were quite specific regarding their choices of music and provided us with a comprehensive selection of songs that they wanted playing on their special day. They trusted us to make sure we had their selections and to stitch the music together to form a seamless passage of music to get people up to dance.
Stephanie and Daniel selected Michael Buble’s ever popular ‘To Love Somebody’ as their first dance as husband and wife (as seen in the video). They also wanted to end their evening wedding party with Bon Jovi’s ‘Have A Little Faith.’
The happy couple provided a list of great songs and, in an effort to try to cater for as many people as possible, we were also given the remit to broaden the music choices so that guests of all ages had a chance to dance to their genres of music.

Durham Castle is a fantastic venue with some magnificent surroundings in the hear of Durham City in County Durham. The County Durham Wedding DJ team are always overjoyed to work in such grand surroundings with the professional staff at the brilliant wedding reception venue.
On this occasion, we were hired by Stephanie & Glenn (as featured in the video and pictured) to provide our high class, professional and reliable Wedding DJ/Disco service on their special day. The happy couple felt that the package we offered them was the best option for them on their memorable wedding day. Not only were we there for their wedding day, but back in 2012 we were also proud to provide the entertainment at Durham Town Hall where the couple held their engagement party, as the couple explains in an e-mail they sent to us after their big day:
We first booked Michael for our engagement party back in 2012 and were very impressed by the service we got. The dance floor was never empty and the atmosphere was great.
So, without a doubt, we would book them for our wedding in July 2017.
Again, we can’t thank Michael and County Durham Wedding DJ enough for a great after party atmosphere. Everyone had a wonderful time and our “first dance” moment was truly special.
Thank you Michael and Team.
From the new Mr & Mrs Taylor
The newlyweds selected Take That’s ‘Rule The World’ as their first dance song as husband and wife. They had a good think about what they would like to follow that special son and they opted for two upbeat and happy songs to kick the entertainment off:
- Pharrell Williams – Happy
- Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
One of the key elements of the service we provide to couples looking to hire a professional DJ is the ability to listen to their needs and to put their thoughts in place. Stephanie & Glen spent time to go through their favourite songs to help us personalise the music we played. They also got to grips with what their friends and family members may appreciate and get up to dance to. So, with the background information on their choices and a great selection of other music genres and artistes, we set about entertaining everyone at the wedding reception.
Gaining the background information from our customers helps us to tailor the event and it gives us a great opportunity to create a fantastic party atmosphere.
Wedding Reception Venue: Durham Castle, Durham City in County Durham
The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge near Barnard Castle in County Durham is a venue that the County Durham Wedding DJ team attend on a very regular basis, you’ll see from our Wedding Reviews (Morritt Hotel) section of our website that we have numerous examples of the professional party services that we have conducted that the North East venue. County Durham Wedding DJ is not the Resident DJ at the venue, but it often feels like that as we have quite a few bookings for the hotel.
On this occasion, we were hired by Hollie & Richard (pictured) for their wedding reception party at The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge. As well as bringing our Mobile Disco/Mobile DJ service to the Barnard Castle hotel, the happy couple also hired our Projector Hire Service where we installed and collated their favourite images into a slideshow that was on display throughout their evening party.
The remit on the music front was for the County Durham Wedding DJ team to play a wide selection of music to get the guests to put their dancing shoes on and celebrate the marriage of Hollie & Richard. The other important and memorable song for the couple is, of course, their first dance and if you view the video, you’ll see that they selected Ben Folds with ‘The Luckiest’ as their first dance song.
As we have other bookings for The Morritt Hotel, we look forward to extending our professional Wedding DJ/Wedding Disco service to existing and future couples who have hired the venue to host their wedding reception party.

Ramside Hall Hotel at Carrville in County Durham was chosen by Danielle & David (pictured) to host their wedding reception and County Durham Wedding DJ was hired by the couple to provide our Professional Mobile Disco service. County Durham Wedding DJ is hired to perform at many high class venues and events across the North East of England, but as an independent DJ company, we always like to showcase our services where venues usually have a Resident DJ.
It’s often very easy for couples to accept the guidance of Wedding Coordinators at venues to use the in-house/Resident DJ as it’s one less thing for the couple to deal with. However, there are couples who do want to spend the time on finding the right DJ for them to take charge of the second half of their wedding day celebrations. We are proud that Danielle & David felt that County Durham Wedding DJ ticked all of the boxes for the couple and that we were brought in to provide the entertainment for their party at Ramside Hall Hotel.
Many venues say that their packages include a ‘free DJ’. However, it’s often important to mention that rarely are things free and if a couple is using a venue with ‘packages’ the cost of the DJ is hidden/included in their fee (sometimes with 20% VAT on top!). When things are perceved as being free, the venue needs to strike a balance between the cost of them hiring the DJ and the quality of the DJ they use. It’s up to the venue to decide which is the most important factor and we wouldn’t like to comment on which option they go for.
In this instance, Danielle & David didn’t go for the Resident DJ and hired County Durham Wedding DJ to perform at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham. We brought our professional Wedding DJ services to their event and took on-board their thoughts and wishes for their big day to offer a bespoke service with direct access and contact with us here at County Durham Wedding DJ.
The couple selected Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You’ as their first dance and followed that up with a Father-Daughter dance which consisted of ‘I Loved Her First’ by Heartland. Our remit was to play a wide selection of music and we did just that by playing selections from many genres and music that appealed to all ages.
We look forward to future bookings from discerning couples who have hired Ramside Hall Hotel to host their wedding day celebrations.

Langley Castle Hotel was chosen by Samantha & David (pictured) to host their wedding reception and evening party/disco. The couple hired County Durham Wedding DJ to take care of their entertainment needs and we were also brought in to add a splash of colour to their function room at the historic castle that was built in 1350.
We brought our professional wedding disco service to Langley Castle Hotel at Hexam in the picturesque Northumberland and we installed our Mood Lighting package in the Stuart Suite at Langley Castle Hotel. The newlyweds selected blue for the ambient LED Lighting Effects as that was a great match for their chosen colour-scheme and it brought out some of the features of the function room.
Samantha & David also pushed out the boat and hired our giant (five foot high) illuminated ‘LOVE’ Letters to accompany the Mood Lighting and the mobile disco service that was brought in for the second half of the wedding day. We were hired in to provide the three wedding services services at Langley Castle Hotel and the couple had considered using the Resident DJ at Langley Castle Hotel, but they booked the service provider that they felt was best for their needs – County Durham Wedding DJ, of course!
For their first dance as husband and wife, the couple selected Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You.’ The rest of the party was made up of a selection of requests from our customers, their guests and a wide selection of popular songs to get people in the celebratory mood. The happy couple selected County Durham Wedding DJ because they felt that we were the right company to provide the entertainment on their special day, we could supply the Giant Illuminated LOVE Letters and also because they didn’t want to hire the Resident DJ at Langley Castle.
Samantha & David contacted us shortly after their special day and praised the services and work that we put into making their wedding day such a memorable occasion. Here’s what they had to say:
We booked County Durham Wedding DJ for our wedding at Langley Castle on 1st of May. Right from the start Michael was lovely and really easy to get along with. I had been worried about the fact that our wedding reception was on the third floor and with no big lift up to it, some DJs just wouldn’t entertain us. Michael however was really nice and said it wouldn’t be a problem (but I bet it was hard work getting all the stuff up them stairs with only a service lift available).
The music on the night was fab.
We also hired the giant “LOVE” letters and the room up lighting in blue which was absolutely gorgeous, it really made the room look even more beautiful and everyone commented on how great it looked. Michael also took some photos and a video for us which he later posted out, so thoughtful. He done a fantastic job and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

County Durham Wedding DJ attended Crook Golf Club to provide our professional mobile disco services to Catherine and David (pictured) on their wedding day. We were hired by the couple to perform at the Clubhouse and to fit in their favourite music selections via a guide list that was sent to us in advance of the big day.
The happy couple selected a wide range of songs that we weaved into the night of entertainment by making sure that there was a good flow, a great mix of genres and also taking requests on the night. It wasn’t possible to get all of the songs on the list played, but the County Durham Wedding DJ team made sure that we played the right songs at the right times – the traits of a professional DJ that has a wealth of knowledge and experience behind them.
The newlyweds selected Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’ as their first dance as husband and wife. To mark the end of their special day, Catherine and David a song by Nathan Sykes called ‘Over And Over Again’ and we hope that they, along with their guests, will recall the special moments from their wedding day ‘over and over again.’

The County Durham Wedding DJ team had the pleasure of venturing out into the picturesque North Yorkshire Dales to bring our quality Mobile DJ and Mobile Disco service to the south of our catchment area. We were booked by Harriet & Thomas (pictured) to provide the entertainment at their wedding reception at The Saddle Room in Coverdale that’s near Leyburn in North Yorkshire. The venue is a part of the Tupgill Estate that’s in the hear of the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
When we set out to provide our services at the party, we knew it was a new venue for us to perform at and we gave ourselves plenty of time to get there and get set up. That’s a quality of a professional service provider to the wedding market and County Durham Wedding DJ strives to offer the highest quality of DJ service that we can. We’d planned the route and had the assistance of Satellite Navigation, but what you don’t often realise is the quality of the roads when planning your route. When we were within a few miles of The Saddle Room, we were directed down some rough roads and we wondered if we had taken the right path to the wedding reception venue.
We were pleased that our planning came to fruition and we arrived safely and with plenty of time to spare!
The Saddle Room website states that they have recently started catering for weddings in 2016 and we guess that we must have been one of the first independent Wedding DJs to play a part in the wedding celebrations at that venue.
Harriet & Thomas selected Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’ as their first dance song and you can view the video of that special moment. We were also asked to play a wide selection of music by the bride and groom and that was one of our music priorities.
County Durham Wedding DJ looks forward to attending more weddings and parties at The Saddle Room, especially as we know that roads may be a bit worn, but we will get there!
A short time after our visit to The Saddle Room for the wedding reception of Harriet & Thomas, we received this message from the newlyweds:
We’d just like to give a massive thanks to Michael and the County Durham Wedding DJ team who performed at out evening do at The Saddle Room in Leyburn. What an amazing evening they gave us from start to finish. They played a great mix of classics and modern that got people up out of there seats and on the dance floor.
Professional service throughout and would definitely recommend them.

Wedding Reception Venue: The Saddle Room (Bar & Restaurant), Coverdale, Leyburn in North Yorkshire.
The North East of England has some fantastic venues and places to hold a wedding reception and County Durham Wedding DJ has attended a wide variety of hotels, stately homes, bespoke/boutique wedding venues and also events held on private grounds in marquees.
We were booked by Angela & Jonny (pictured right) to provide the disco for their wedding reception party in the picturesque countryside of Weardale.
The happy couple gave us a very good idea of the music they wanted and we incorporated their favourites into the evening celebrations. They knew exactly what their family and friends would dance to and it was our job to play those songs in the right order and at the right times. We think we got it spot on because from the word go through to the final song of the night, the dance floor was a hive of activity.
For their first dance, Angela & Jonny selected a power ballad/80s rock from Roxette – Almost Unreal. You can see the footage from that part of their party in the video above.

Newcastle Racecourse (Gosforth Park) was a new venue for County Durham Wedding DJ to provide our professional Wedding Disco service. We cover the whole of the North East (not just County Durham) and we’re regularly performing in the Tyneside area.
On this occasion, we were booked by Carley & Alan (pictured right) for their wedding reception disco at Newcastle Racecourse at High Gosforth Park as the newlyweds didn’t want to hire the Resident DJ. They took the option to research the right DJ for their party and they decided that County Durham Wedding DJ was their preferred option.
The happy couple selected a song by Jason Mraz called ‘I Won’t Give Up’ as their memorable first dance song and you can see that special part of their wedding day in the video (above). As for their other music choices, they left that mainly down to us and we used their request for ‘a good mix of music’ to play for the different ages and groups of people attending their wedding. They also sent through a small list of their favourite songs that we used that to fit their selections in throughout their party.
A short time after their big day, Carley & Alan got in touch with us and sent us their thoughts on the part we played on their wedding day:
We would like to thank County Durham Wedding DJ for a fantastic and memorable evening at Newcastle Racecourse on the 11th July 2015.
All songs, which we requested. were played and there was a fantastic mix of old and new music which kept everyone up on the dance floor all night. The first dance video and photos which he provided us with were excellent! We would definitely book again and recommend to friends and family if they are ever in need of a professional DJ to provide the music at their venue.

County Durham Wedding DJ is getting to be quite a regular supplier of wedding entertainment at the Hall Garth Hotel near Darlington in County Durham. We’ve been independently chosen by many couples to provide their wedding disco throughout 2011 and it looks like the positive comments about our service are spreading further afield. With bookings already in the diary for 2012, it looks like the Hall Garth Hotel will be a regular venue for us.
This time we were booked by Katie and Matthew for their wedding reception disco. The happy couple selected Florence And The Machine and their version of ‘You Got The Love,’ as their first dance song. My clients wanted a wide selection of music for their party and this included: modern indie, 60s, 70s, 80s, chart and Motown selections.
