County Durham Wedding DJ was called upon to provide a great night of entertainment at Redworth Hall Hotel. Our team has been to this establishment many times over the years as not every couple booking the venue wants to use the services that it puts before their customers. Some couples want more and are also ready to do their homework. They also want the option to choose the DJ they want for their wedding day and that’s exactly what Stephanie and Daniel (pictured) did when they hired County Durham Wedding DJ.
The newlyweds were quite specific regarding their choices of music and provided us with a comprehensive selection of songs that they wanted playing on their special day. They trusted us to make sure we had their selections and to stitch the music together to form a seamless passage of music to get people up to dance.
Stephanie and Daniel selected Michael Buble’s ever popular ‘To Love Somebody’ as their first dance as husband and wife (as seen in the video). They also wanted to end their evening wedding party with Bon Jovi’s ‘Have A Little Faith.’
The happy couple provided a list of great songs and, in an effort to try to cater for as many people as possible, we were also given the remit to broaden the music choices so that guests of all ages had a chance to dance to their genres of music.

Crook Hall & Gardens is a wedding venue that has appeared in our diary many times over the past year or so and County Durham Wedding DJ is getting quite accustomed to being chosen over their Resident DJ to provide our experienced and professional Wedding DJ service at the venue.
This time, it was Leigh & Gavin (pictured dancing with some of their guests) who decided that we were the option that ticked all of their boxes when it came to selecting a Wedding DJ to provide a great party atmosphere and get their guests celebrating their wedding. The happy couple also had their initials in giant illuminated letters and this is a service that County Durham Wedding DJ can provide – we usually get asked for the Giant Illuminated LOVE Letters as that is our most popular request from couples looking to hire the Mr & Mrs Giant Illuminated Letters.
Many people see the first dance as something special and memorable. Leigh & Gavin decided to have Jason Mraz and ‘I Won’t Give Up’ as their first dance song as husband and wife.
The couple wanted us to play a varied selection of popular songs and we stuck to their suggestion on their special day. Much to the surprise of the newlyweds, we even got the grandparents up dancing, as per the fantastic feedback we received after their wedding reception at Crook Hall and Gardens:
Just want to say a huge thank you to Michael our wedding DJ. He was fantastic and the music selection was perfect. The dance floor was never empty & he even got my grandparents raving away!
Absolutely brilliant Michael, you were exactly what we wanted.
I would highly recommend booking County Durham Wedding DJ for any event.
Many Thanks Again,
The New Mr & Mrs Cattanach
Leigh & Gavin

Crook Hall & Gardens is a wonderful venue that is really making its mark in the busy wedding reception venue market. County Durham Wedding DJ has provided our professional Mobile DJ/Mobile Disco and other wedding services at this venue in the centre of Durham City. We’ve performed at Crook Hall and Gardens several times and have created many happy memories on such an important day like a wedding.
On this occasion, we were booked by Robyn & Craig (pictured) as they were looking for an Independent Professional DJ to take charge of providing the disco for their special day. They decided not to book the Resident DJ and felt that we, County Durham Wedding DJ, were the best option for them.
The couple lased with us on the run up to their big day and they wanted a wide selection of popular songs that would get their guests in the party mood. So, we stuck to their remit and made sure that we catered for all ages and played songs that would encourage people up to dance from all genres of music.
For their first dance, the newlyweds selected Lonestar’s ‘Amazed’ as their first dance song and you can see that part of the evening in the video.
We look forward to returning to Crook Hall & Gardens in the near future and we look forward to bringing our professional Wedding DJ/Wedding Disco service to that fine North East venue that’s gaining a great reputation for hosting weddings and other events.
Rather than us tell you how good the evening reception went for the happy couple, this is what they sent us a short time after their wedding day:
We booked County Durham Wedding DJ having met them at a wedding fayre. The guys struck us as being both professional and personal.
On the day itself they were excellent, playing all of our requests, and made sure we and our guests had an excellent night. I would recommend County Durham Wedding DJ to anyone, very experienced guys, reliable and very well priced.

The Blackwell Grange Hotel in Darlington is a venue that the County Durham Wedding DJ team have been to many times over the years and we have bookings for this fine North East venue in the diary for years to come. We were hired to bring our Professional Mobile DJ/Mobile Disco service to the wedding reception party of Christine & David at Blackwell Grange Hotel.
County Durham Wedding DJ is not the Resident DJ at the hotel, but couples have continued to exercise their right to find and hire an independent DJ for their wedding reception at the hotel and that’s why we’ve attended and performed at many events at Blackwell Grange Hotel.
In this instance, Christine & David (pictured) felt that the service and professionalism offered by County Durham Wedding DJ was just right for their needs on such a memorable and important day in their lives. They asked us to play a wide selection of music as they knew that their guests came from all ages and had different tastes in music. The couple also selected a first and second dance that you can view in the video:
First Dance: Train – Hey Soul Sister
Second Dance: Heartland – I Loved Her First

The Eden Arms Hotel at Rushyford in County Durham hosted the wedding celebrations for Melanie & Terry (pictured). We regularly provide our professional Wedding DJ/Wedding Disco services at this fine hotel as the venue staff/management see the amount of effort, quality of service and reliability we provide to our customers. It is for for that reason that we are on their list of preferred suppliers.
Melanie & Terry selected Lonestar with ‘Amazed’ as their first dance song and opted to have a second song of David Bowie’s ‘Modern Love’. The couple also provided us with a small list of their favourite selections and we made sure that we played them at an appropriate time.
The happy couple also wanted a good selection of music for their wedding reception entertainment and that’s exactly what we played on the second half of their special day.
The County Durham Wedding DJ team have also performed many Christmas Parties at the Eden Arms Hotel and if you have selected this venue for your festive party celebrations, you may well be able to sample the quality of our Mobile DJ/Mobile Disco service. County Durham Wedding DJ came to the rescue of Elaine and Robert (pictured right) when we provided their engagement party entertainment at Stockton Cricket Club. The couple had planned their celebrations, like many couples, in the finest of details, but were let down by a band who cancelled on them.
We were shocked to hear of the news and saddened that any service provider or supplier of entertainment would let a couple down so close to their big day. County Durham Wedding DJ contracts all events and in all the time we have been sending out mobile discos, we have never let anyone down, we have never been late for a function and we have never farmed out a job to another supplier.
When Elaine and Robert found out that we were available at the last minute to help them, we sprung into action. We gathered the vital information to get an idea of how we can replace the band and how we can tailor the needs of the couple and their guests. This included getting an idea of their music tastes and the important songs, such as any special tracks that are particularly memorable to them or their guests and family members.
We don’t need to emphasise the importance of finding the right entertainers for any party because the happy couple highlighted that when they contacted us shortly after their function:
“Thank you County Durham Wedding DJ for a memorable evening at Stockton Cricket Club for our Engagement.
The music covered all eras and everyone enjoyed the event. All music requests were met and were professional in their approach to the whole evening.
We literally could not have done it without you as you kindly stepped in to save the evening at the last minute and we were very happy with the service. We would have no problem in recommending you to anyone.
Robert & Elaine”

County Durham Wedding DJ was hired by a lovely couple who hired a marquee for their wedding reception in a village near Darlington in County Durham. Not only were the couple celebrating their marriage with their loved ones, they were also bringing in 2015 as their wedding was on the 31st December 2014 (New Year’s Eve).
Emma and Guy (pictured right) combined the two memorable events into a single party and we had the pleasure of providing part of the entertainment package as we were assisted by the Joe Public band.
In order to make their first dance memorable and different, the happy couple started off with a fantastic love song from Madness (a cover version of a song that originally charted in November 1971 by Labi Siffre). It is, of course, ‘It Must Be Love’ and that flowed into… well, watch the video (below) to find out!
The couple sent us a good selection of popular songs that had come from some of their guests and we endeavoured to get through as many of them as possible. The only other guidance we had from Emma and Guy was to play a good selection of music from the 1980s and 1990s as they were the two decades of music that they particularly enjoyed.

County Durham Wedding DJ was asked to provide the entertainment for Durham Police at the magnificent Durham Castle in the centre of the city of Durham. The guests enjoyed a fantastic meal with light music in the background to help create a good atmosphere, while also giving people the chance to talk to the other guests on their table. After the meal the disco started and great night was had by all.
The Black Tie event brought the ladies out with their best frocks and the gentlemen looked dashing in their best formal attire. The event was their annual Christmas Party that always takes place after the festive season because of the workload throughout December.
We have a number of bookings for Weddings at Durham Castle and the venue really is one of the jewels in Durham’s prestigious heritage. County Durham Wedding DJ always looks forward to working with the staff of Durham Castle and to create a memorable wedding day.

County Durham Wedding DJ was at Bannatynes Hotel in Darlington for a very special couple. Norma & David were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary and they decided to hire us for their big party. The couple wanted the best DJ they could find for anniversary and they were not willing to take any chances with any old mobile disco.
So, after a chat on the phone, the couple decided to hire County Durham Wedding DJ for their celebration because we were able to provide what they were looking for. We often get asked to do anniversary parties because some couples want the same atmosphere and level of professionalism that is expected of us at their event. An anniversary party of any kind is a family celebration and it can be just as important and memorable as the wedding day.
There was a great selection of music and we got the chance to dust off some of the records and play some songs we hadn’t heard in a while. We played the right music for the right age group. We received many comments at the end of the night, thanking us for the great disco we’d provided and for bringing back some great memories for not only the couple, but also their friends and family.
After the party, Norma & David sent us the following feedback:
I would just like to thank County Durham Wedding DJ for making our Golden Weding Anniversary celebrations such a success – with 60s music, as requested. The music wasn’t too loud, which also pleased us both becausepeople like to hear what people are saying to them when you are among friends and when you are dancing.
I would definitely recommend them for any special occasion. I found Michael to be very friendly, reliable and professional.
We had a lovely time had with your help.
Norma & David Cummings
P.S. Thank you for the photos – you really made it a lovely evening and we can not fault you at all.
