The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge near Barnard Castle in County Durham is a venue that the County Durham Wedding DJ team attend on a very regular basis, you’ll see from our Wedding Reviews (Morritt Hotel) section of our website that we have numerous examples of the professional party services that we have conducted that the North East venue. County Durham Wedding DJ is not the Resident DJ at the venue, but it often feels like that as we have quite a few bookings for the hotel.
On this occasion, we were hired by Hollie & Richard (pictured) for their wedding reception party at The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge. As well as bringing our Mobile Disco/Mobile DJ service to the Barnard Castle hotel, the happy couple also hired our Projector Hire Service where we installed and collated their favourite images into a slideshow that was on display throughout their evening party.
The remit on the music front was for the County Durham Wedding DJ team to play a wide selection of music to get the guests to put their dancing shoes on and celebrate the marriage of Hollie & Richard. The other important and memorable song for the couple is, of course, their first dance and if you view the video, you’ll see that they selected Ben Folds with ‘The Luckiest’ as their first dance song.
As we have other bookings for The Morritt Hotel, we look forward to extending our professional Wedding DJ/Wedding Disco service to existing and future couples who have hired the venue to host their wedding reception party.
Wedding Reception Venue: The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge near Barnard Castle in County Durham
The County Durham Wedding DJ team have made numerous visits to The Morritt Country House Hotel to provide our Mobile Wedding Disco services to couples who have selected that fine venue at Greta Bridge, near Barnard Castle in County Durham.
On this occasion, we had the pleasure of being selected to provide our Professional Wedding DJ service at the reception of Amy & Gareth. As well as providing some of the entertainment on their big day, they also booked the additional service of our Giant Illuminated LOVE Letters. The couple, along with some of their wedding party, loved the letters so much that they had their pictures taken in front of them (pictured below).
Amy & Gareth had an acoustic version of Jason Mraz’s ‘I Won’t Give Up On You’ as their first dance, a song from Heartland called ‘I Loved Her First’ as their second dance and Nickelback’s ‘Photograph’ as their third dance. The happy couple wanted a mixture of music to cater for the many different ages of their guests and that’s exactly what we brought to their evening wedding reception.
The couple hired County Durham Wedding DJ as we have a great reputation for providing a first class service and they also wanted our Giant Illuminated LOVE Letters. It is for these reasons that they chose not to go with any Resident DJ / Resident Mobile Disco.
County Durham Wedding DJ was as the Morritt Arms Hotel at Greta Bridge near Barnard Castle for the wedding of Nicola & Craig Hopson. The couple chose us to provide their wedding disco at the luxury north east hotel that sits in the North Pennine Hills in County Durham.
The happy couple selected Rod Stewart’s ‘Crazy Love’ as their First Dance as husband and wife. As you will see from the video (below), they decided to treasure that moment together. They followed it with a big group photograph where all of the attendees were asked to gather on the dance floor.
Nicola & Craig selected a wide selection of songs that they liked or they knew certain guests would enjoy dancing to. They included a few names to go with the songs they sent to us in advance and this allowed us to tailor the event to the needs of the couple and also the guests.
The Morritt Arms Hotel at Barnard Castle was the chosen venue for the wedding reception of Jenny & Ben (pictured right) and County Durham Wedding DJ was the supplier they picked to provide the party for their evening celebrations. We’ve provided our Mobile Disco package to many couples at the Morritt Arms Hotel over the years and the bookings keep flowing in from couples who have chosen this wedding reception venue for their big day.
The happy couple selected Tom Odell and ‘Grow Old With Me’ as their first dance as husband and wife – just like the song suggests, we hope that’s exactly what they do together in their marriage.
As for their music selections, they sent us a short list of their favourites and we were happy to oblige on that front. Importantly, the couple also sent us information on what they would not like to hear at their wedding reception party and we kept away from the likes of ‘The Birdie Song’, ‘The Macarena’, ‘YMCA’ and ‘The Conga’ to name but a few of the ‘cheesy’ songs our clients did not want.
Upon their return from their honeymoon, Jenny & Ben sent us their feedback on their Wedding Reception Disco:
“We had County Durham Wedding DJ do the music for our wedding disco at The Morritt Arms, and we have no complaints. He played a good mix of music, as well as all our requests.
There was plenty of dancing, in fact I was dancing all night, even as I walked around chatting to guests I was tapping my feet! He even took some lovely photos and a video of our first dance, which I was not expecting so it was a lovely surprise.
Michael was very thorough in discussing our requirements, so as to get it completely perfect. The result was that there were always people dancing and a great atmosphere. A friendly personal service that I would definitely recommend. Very happy customers!!
