Durham Castle is a magnificent wedding venue in the heart of Durham City and County Durham Wedding DJ is regularly booked to provide the disco in the Grand Hall.  We were booked to DJ at the venue by Ruth and Richard who got married in April 2012.

The newlyweds selected David Grohl – Hero as their First Dance and you can see a clip from that special moment in the video below.

The couple selected some of their favourite songs to follow their First Dance, these included music from Olly Murs, the Black Eyed Peas and Take That.  The music policy for the rest of the night included the bride and groom’s favourites and a wide selection of songs for their guests.

Ruth and Richard wanted the requests from their guests to be played and went on to describe what their thoughts were: “We just request some decent floor fillers!  Anything from Abba to JLS,” and that’s just what County Durham Wedding DJ supplied.

The happy couple sent us these comments:

We would like to thank Michael (AKA County Durham Wedding DJ) for doing such a wonderful job at our wedding.

He played all of the songs we wanted, as well as taking requests from our friends and family.  The dance floor was full all night, and every one of our guests has said what a wonderful time they had.

The added touch of taking photographs during the evening and video footage of our first dance was brilliant! We received a CD of photographs in the post just a few days after the wedding and we have enjoyed looking at these action shots!

Thanks once again for making it such an enjoyable evening – we are so glad we hired you!

County Durham Wedding DJ made another return to the magnificent Durham Castle in the heart of Durham City.  We were booked by Jacqueline & Jamie to provide their wedding disco in The Great Hall of Durham Castle and it was a great party – even if we do say so ourselves.

The happy couple selected some of their favourite songs for their special day.  They wanted Madonna’s ‘Crazy For You’ as their first dance and then wanted to get the celebrations off to a good start with a big floor filler from the 1980s: Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

We’ve included a video (below) of their first dance and the rush of guests to the dance floor for their chosen second song.

Over the past year, we’ve had a growing number of bookings for Durham Castle come through and we can only put that down to our excellent reputation and from more recommendations/word of mouth referrals from past customers.

The picture above shows Jacqueline & Jamie cutting their wedding cake that took place just before they took to the floor for their first dance as husband and wife.  The newlyweds sent us some feedback upon returning from their Honeymoon:

“My husband and i would like to take a minute to say thank you very much to County Durham Wedding DJ.  The DJ was extremely friendly and ensured it was extremely easy and enjoyable to select our play list.

From the beginning of our evening celebrations the music was perfect – exactly what we asked for which ensured the dance floor was full all evening.  He has even taken some photos and made a DVD which he has passed onto us since.

All together, our day was fantastic and was made even more so by our choice of DJ.  I would recommend him for all occasions.

Thank you again,

Jacqueline & Jamie”

County Durham Wedding DJ was back at Durham Castle in the centre of Durham City in the North East of England.  We were booked by Bex & Phil (pictured right) for their wedding entertainment needs.  We were all set up and ready for the couple to arrive in the room and the newlyweds selected Otis Redding with (Sittin On) The Dock of The Bay as the piece of music that they would like to enter the room to.

The couple had a late reception and their first dance started a little later than normal as they cut the cake at 8pm, entertained the speeches and then their wedding breakfast was served.

So, that meant the first dance was booked in for approximately 9.30pm.  Speaking of which, they selected Extreme and More Than Words as the song they wanted to dace to as husband and wife.

Following their first dance, the happy couple wanted R Kelly with Bump N Grind and the rest of the evening contained some of their favourite songs that were given to us in advance of the big day.  The couple were into their modern chart, dance, indie and rock music.  They made sure that their other guests were catered for and we also played a wide selection of songs from across the decades.

The only stipulation the couple had was that we were not to play anything too cheesy – we certainly obliged on that front.

The couple reflected on their special day and sent us their thoughts on the service that County Durham Wedding DJ provided:

“We’d like to thank you again for your DJ services at our wedding reception at Durham Castle on 19/09/2013.

The music you played was perfect; something for everyone, including our personal favourites.  Everyone really enjoyed themselves and judging by the bad heads in the morning, more than they probably should have!

Bex & Phil”

If the praise from the happy couple (above) that was sent a day or so after their special day, the happy couple also sent us this feedback:

“A true professional who made the night with the sound of music.  Michael, and his assistant, played music for every taste and even squeezed in all of our personal favourites.

From the first sound people were itching to bust some moves on the dance floor and party the night away.

I would, without a doubt recommend Michael, from County Durham Wedding DJ, to anyone with musical needs.  I know that for all my future parties in the area I have a DJ who I can call upon, and provide an excellent night.

Bex & Phil”

We’re always exceedingly grateful for the positive comments from our happy customers and we believe that we must have helped to create lasting memories for Bex and Phil on their wedding day.  Thank you most sincerely from County Durham Wedding DJ for the two messages of thanks that came in.

Durham Castle is a magnificent venue to host a wedding reception and County Durham Wedding DJ was back in the centre of Durham to provide the evening entertainment for Bethany & Rogan’s (pictured right) party.  It’s always a pleasure working at fantastic venues throughout the North East and the staff at Durham Castle are always a pleasure to see and help make the wedding day one to remember.

The newlyweds selected ‘Eric Clapton – Wonderful Tonight’ as their first dance (video below) and that set a great mood for the rest of the night because as soon as that traditional aspect was completed, the guests hit the dance floor and never stopped partying.  The guests were full of energy and we tried our best to wear them down with some great music selections and requests, but they beat us hands down.

The happy couple wanted a good mix of music to cater for all ages and, as we do at all events and with permission from our clients, we took requests from the guests to help create a great party atmosphere.  DJing at Durham Castle is always a pleasure, but it’s even better when we have a crowd that wants to really celebrate the marriage of their friend or family member.
